About this bursary

The Rhodes Scholarship, established in 1902, is the oldest international postgraduate scholarship in the world. Ten scholarships are awarded annually across the Southern Africa constituency for full-time Masters or Doctoral study at Oxford, commencing October 2027. It covers Oxford's application fee, tuition for at least two years, and an annual stipend for living costs.

Requirements

✓Citizen or legal permanent resident of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia or Eswatini

✓Lived in one of these countries for at least 5 of the last 10 years

✓Completed, or will complete by July 2027, an undergraduate degree

✓Aged 19 to 25 on 1 October 2027

✓Meets the specific Oxford course entry requirements for your chosen programme

✓Preference given to First Class Honours, GPA 3.70+, an Honours year, or Masters-level study
