About this bursary

The Rhodes Scholarship, established in 1902, is the oldest international postgraduate scholarship in the world. Ten scholarships are awarded annually across the Southern Africa constituency for full-time Masters or Doctoral study at Oxford, commencing October 2027. It covers Oxford's application fee, tuition for at least two years, and an annual stipend for living costs.

Requirements

โœ“Citizen or legal permanent resident of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia or Eswatini
โœ“Lived in one of these countries for at least 5 of the last 10 years
โœ“Completed, or will complete by July 2027, an undergraduate degree
โœ“Aged 19 to 25 on 1 October 2027
โœ“Meets the specific Oxford course entry requirements for your chosen programme
โœ“Preference given to First Class Honours, GPA 3.70+, an Honours year, or Masters-level study
